Poem

I also wrote this poem back in 2003. I wrote it in recognition of my mother. I remember alot when we were younger just sitting and watching the rain. Everytime it would rain we would get a blanket and open the door and watch it fall. It always made me wonder why she loved to watch the rain.
****************
Savoring the moment
Savoring the dream
Stay still for a moment
I'm savoring the gleam.
It will all make sense one day
It will all come together.
It will all be worth the wait.
Still I struggle to endevor.
So at last I met myself.
So at last we've become aquainted.
With myself hand in hand
With myself I am so belated.
Silent raindrops trickle in the forest.
Slides down the notch of giant trees.
Soaks the cotton in my shoes.
Soaks the cracks inside my feet.
Moisture tappers in my jacket
Dew surrounds my hair and cheeks
And all the time I've stood her standing
Becomes the same time I've waited for me.
It would be cold
If not for humidity
It would be cold
If not for the gust of heat.
It would be cold
If not for the heart
That whimpers
In every beat.
It longs for human contact
It longs for many things
It shouts and it murmers
It dances and it sings.
Savoring this emotion
Savoring the time
Savoring the love
Savoring the mind.
No words bring justice to what you are to me.
No words can define
No words can explain
No words can relate
all the love that I contain.
Rays of light shine through
Reflects off the rain.
Reflects off my eyes
Reflects off in vain.
My hands open and I drop
everything I have been holding on to.
All the walls that I have made.
All the broken bridges shattered.
Reminants of memories carried
All the milestones that mattered.
I don't need them any longer
I can remember on my own
Savoring the soul
Savoring the bone.
Something about this amazes me
I marvel and I cease
Something about the Rain
Something about it's peace.
Savoring the atmosphere
Savoring the weather
Savoring without measure.
I take for granted my own sight.
I take for granted inside shelter.
I take for granted Serenity.
I take for granted Rainy Weather.
