So yesterday my social worker called and said we could FINALLY go see baby #3!!!! We thought about calling him Eric Daniel but the more I said it out loud the more it just didn't sound natural. Last night, as most of you know, we agreed on Travis but are still debating a middle name. We found out some information on Travis like his birthday is August 4th. He was born at 29 weeks and is now supposed to be at 36 so he was born a full 12 weeks early!!! He is very strong though and doesn't seem to display any problems with lungs or heart or brain and is doing really well. He still uses a feeding tube but drinks two bottles on his own. Right now he is a little sick, they suspect a virul infection, because his heart rate is up and is breathing sometimes becomes fast. They will do a hearing test and other tests before he leaves. They haven't done everything yet because quite frankly he is just now a full term baby. My social worker gave me the number to the case worker at the hospital so I called her up and set up a time for us to come see him. Me and Jeff were supposed to go this morning but Jeff HAD to go to work so I drug my mom with me. I took quite a few pictures and chatted with the nurses who didn't know for sure to talk to me at first until they realized I had Kade, his biological brother. Then they were super friendly and I was included in the loop. They told me that the birth mom was there all the time until she FLIPPED and was kicked out. She does just stay up the road so I wasn't suprised to find that out. And I was glad he at least had someone to love on him while I wasn't there. But now that we are officially in the know I plan on us making the long trip to Bentaub as often as we can. He should have a few more weeks stay before he can come home. They said he was having episodes where he stopped breathing but hasn't done it in over 7 days.... SCARY.
Let me just say he is sooooo freaking cute!!!! Thank God for crazy people who make beautiful babies!!! LOL I couldn't have done a better job myself! I can't wait to bring him home and fatten him up.
